R.I.P. Randy Pausch (1960-2008)

Randy Pausch, former computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University, passed away yesterday after struggling for almost two years with pancreatic cancer. Like most others, I first learned of Professor Pausch through his "Last Lecture" speech at CMU, titled Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams. I encourage everyone to watch this heart-felt and inspiring talk. He has also been video-taped in other events, including a lecture on time management, an interview with TIME, and a testimony before the Labor, Health & Human Services Subcommittee. Though tragic, Professor Pausch's struggles have turned him into an icon. One hopes that the lessons he passes to us are learned well.
